Piper Staff Note

Program Director

Technology is a fact of nonprofit life. Arts and culture organizations, in particular, have special pressures to stay on top of technology to attract new audiences and market events, performances and destinations. Most need to generate a substantial portion of annual revenue through ticket sales. This month marks the launch of the new ShowUp.com website, a project of Alliance for Audience. ShowUp.com has been a very successful arts marketing collaboration. In this issue of Piper Bulletin, you will find other technology stories and resources. And do let us know what you are up to!

Nonprofits and Technology

ShowUp.com now features a user-generated top 10 list of upcoming performances and events.

News from Piper Trust

Piper Trust unveils revised logo
The Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust is a long name. A long name can make a logo a little unwieldy and too small in application alongside other logos. Just in time for our move to new offices at the very end of June, when all our letterhead and business cards will change anyway, we have a simpler logo design. Going forward, the new logotype reflects dropping “the.”

More information on the move will be forthcoming. Please note our phone numbers will stay the same. Our new address will be 1202 East Missouri Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona 85014.

Piper Fellows program offers new brochure and coming information session
The application process for the eighth class of Piper Fellows will begin in June. A new brochure describes the Piper Fellows program. Those interested in applying can learn more at a coming information session on Friday, June 6, 2008, 9-11am, at the Pulliam Auditorium at the Burton Barr Library, Phoenix.
