A Special Message from Susan M. Pepin—Remembering Dan Schay

Dear Friends and Colleagues,
Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust is deeply saddened by the sudden loss of our dear friend, Dan Schay. His leadership of Theater Works, among other performing arts organizations in our community, will leave a lasting legacy for all. Proudly selected as one of our 2015 Piper Fellows, Dan’s fellowship work focused on ways to help foster community and define identity in our region through strengthening performing arts—as a whole, not just within the organization he served. He always spoke of the power of connectivity and collaboration, and of the need to continually learn and redefine the purpose of one’s work.
While Piper Trust may have been seen as a resource for Dan—he was the true resource for us all, tenfold. Our thoughts are with the Schay family and the arts community. Dan will be greatly missed.
