Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust introduced Picturing Maricopa, a community photography project, to offer the services of 15 talented photographers to 15 nonprofit organizations, which gain usage rights of the photographs. The project was juried, and photographers were selected by leading arts and photography curators in the Valley: Cassandra Coblentz, Associate Curator, Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art; Heather Lineberry, Senior Curator and Interim Director, ASU Museum of Art; and Rebecca Senf, Assistant Curator Center for Creative Photography & Phoenix Art Museum.
