Redefining Well-being in the Nonprofit Sector: A Two-Part Workshop for Piper Fellows (ZOOM)

Philanthropic experts from the Dorothy A. Johnson Center for Philanthropy will be joining us to guide a two-part series designed exclusively for Piper Fellows. Recognizing how both work and life pressures were exacerbated by the pandemic, global tensions, racial injustice, and the ongoing mission-driven work of nonprofit organizations, this series highlights how it is crucial to redefine and re-center well-being practices at the individual, organizational, and systems levels.

The May 5, 2022 session will explore a variety of ideas around social and cultural barriers to well-being, well-being practices that support leaders and teams, and the critical role of leadership in that process.

The September 15, 2022 session will build upon themes and discoveries from the May convening. Utilizing peer reflection, discussion and case studies, Fellows will be able to dig into questions including expectations, barriers, and embedding of well-being practices.

These sessions will be engaging, practical and, directly applicable to your work and the work of your organizations. Although you will benefit from both sessions, it is not required to attend both.

Time: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Reimagining Workforce Workshop Series

The Trust is so pleased to work with local expert Tiffanie Dillard of Avenir Consulting Partners to present a four-part series directly examining the challenges of recruiting, retaining, and strengthening workforce, specifically in the nonprofit community.

Sessions will focus on Reimagining Work; Reimagining Recruitment, Selection, Onboarding and Compensation; and Reimagining Engagement and Retention. Avenir will share current research, potential approaches, and engage Fellows directly in creating solutions and identifying opportunities for action.

While designed as a series, Fellows can attend individual sessions as each will be built to stand- alone. Fellows will leave connected to additional resources and information that can be implemented immediately to help increase an organization’s “workforce health.”

Time: 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Held at Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust
