Letter from Susan M. Pepin—New Piper Trust Resident Scholars Program

March 28, 2016

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

As a way to engage young professionals in the social profit sector—and learn from them as they work with us—I’m excited to announce our new Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust Resident Scholars Program. Through a paid two-year commitment, Resident Scholars can learn about the social sector and philanthropy, examine issues and challenges in our region, and contribute to advancing the Trust’s mission of improving well-being for all in Maricopa County. The program benefits are mutual and far-reaching—Piper Trust receives an ongoing infusion of fresh ideas and talent through the Scholars and Scholars gain a philanthropic experience that can enrich their career paths and the social profit sector.

A candidate for the Resident Scholars Program must have an undergraduate degree; a graduate degree and/or nonprofit work experience will add to a candidate’s competitiveness. Application information and program details can be found at pipertrust.org/scholars; applications are due May 9, 2016.

I would greatly appreciate if you would share this opportunity with your networks. We will select the inaugural Piper Trust Resident Scholar by June 2016. Please feel free to contact Karen Leland (kleland@pipertrust.org / ) with any questions.

Warmest regards,

Susan M. Pepin, M.D.
