Piper Trust Capital Campaign Policy Update
November 7, 2018
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust continually strives to better serve our community and as such, the Trustees have adjusted the Trust’s grantmaking policy related to capital campaigns. The Trust is pleased to relay that nonprofits can now hold concurrent grants when one grant is for a capital campaign.
To clarify further, grantees with a current program-related grant may apply for a capital campaign grant, and grantees with a current capital campaign grant may apply for a program-related grant. Our policy of a 12-month waiting period between grants will remain in place for all other grant requests, including those for capital projects (rather than campaigns). We hope this policy change responds to how our community has evolved since the Trust was established, and also helps accelerate and actualize efforts that improve public well-being.
Piper Trust is committed to its mission of supporting organizations that enrich health, well-being, and opportunity in Maricopa County in the areas of arts and culture, children, education, healthcare and medical research, older adults, and religious organizations. As a reminder, on the first Wednesday of each month, we hold our Piper 101 sessions—open to all in the nonprofit community to learn more about the Trust’s work and grantmaking. Contact Renee Khoury (rkhoury@pipertrust.org) if you would like to RSVP for an upcoming session.
It is an honor to work as a partner alongside all of you, our nonprofit leaders, supporting and strengthening our community. You are our greatest asset.
As always, we welcome your feedback or questions—please feel free to contact the Trust’s program staff anytime.
Warm regards,
Mary Jane Rynd
